ANDERSON - Clara Lou Moore Arflin, 85, of the Zion Community, widow of Ernest Clay Arflin, died Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born November 13, 1927 in the Zion Community of Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Fletch Anderson and Lula Gambrell Moore. She was a graduate of Pendleton High School and was retired from Dr. John Young's Dental Office in Pendleton. Mrs. Arflin was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Arflin and wife, Judy of Walhalla; two grandchildren, Tanya Massey (Josh) of Stillwater, OK and Chris Arflin of Townville; two step-grandchildren, Brent Smith (Jill) and Alison Bibb (Mike) of Walhalla; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Agnes Richey, Joyce Davis, and Becky Walters (Glenn), all of Anderson; one brother, Fletch A. Moore, Jr. (Ann) of Greer; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Moore of Anderson.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Mount Tabor Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tim Sheriff. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family is at the home of her sister, Becky and Glenn Walters, 1001 Providence Church Road, Anderson.
