ANDERSON – Jenny Ruth Wright, 80, of Anderson, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, February 21, 2013. She spent her final days surrounded by family before being called home to Heaven.
Born May 12, 1932 in Laurens, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Thelma Willingham Holliday. She was a homemaker and a former teacher’s assistant at Westside High School. Jenny was an active member of Concord Baptist Church throughout her life and was a caregiver to the elderly during her golden years. Her focus in life was centered around faith, church, family, and friends. This is where she spent her time and where she found life’s greatest joy. Our mother will always be remembered for her constant smile, her funny and wise sayings and most of all her unconditional and never-ending love for those closest to her. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mama (Nonnie) will be missed.
Survivors include two sons, Gregg Wright and wife, Amy and Robin Wright and wife, Caroline, all of Anderson; grandchildren, Cameron and Wesley Wright, Haley Wright, Logan and Landon Wright, Morgan, Dillon, and Dustin McDougald; great granddaughter, Maddison Wright; five brothers, Pete Holliday, Charles Holliday, Butch Holliday, Jerry Holliday, and Don Holliday; and two sisters, Jean Cobb and Frances Forrester.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Parker Holliday.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Bob Marcaurelle. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the mortuary, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson.
Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4124 Clemson Boulevard, Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
