Rollie E. Wilbanks

April 7, 1935 – July 19, 2012

Rollie Efford Wilbanks, age 77, of 935 Jackson Street, husband of Flora Mae Johnson Wilbanks, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House.  

Born in Westminster, SC, he was the son of the late Efford James Wilbanks and Bessie Ramey Wilbanks.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.  He retired from Glen Raven after 52 years of service.  He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, he was a past deacon and a Sunday school teacher.

In addition to his loving wife of 56 years, he is survived by his sons, Eddie Wilbanks and his wife Tammy of Anderson and Tony Wilbanks and his wife Patsy of Anderson;  a brother, Earl Wilbanks of Anderson; sisters, Nellie Hayes, Ollie Bell Dunn, Ruby Shaw, Ruth Tiller, all of Anderson and Betty Shank of Bird IL;  four grandchildren, Velisha Ratledge, Bradley Wilbanks, Colton Wilbanks, Savannah Wilbanks; and one great-grandchild, Makail Ratledge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Berry, Roscoe, Cecil, Lawrence, Frank and Ralph Wilbanks; and his sisters, Grace McAlister and Loma Rholetter.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at The McDougald Funeral Home from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm.  The Funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:30 pm.  The Reverend Mark Dickson will officiate.  Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Flowers are optional, or memorials may be made to Rainey Hospice House, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
