ANDERSON - Elbert Lee Elrod, 84, of Anderson, died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born October 30, 1927 in Anderson, he was the son of the late Waymon F. and Mamie Campbell Elrod. He was self-employed and was retired from Anderson County Road Maintenance Department. Mr. Elrod was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Ernestine B. "Tinnie" Elrod; one son, Jimmy Ray Elrod and wife, Elaine of Piercetown Community; daughter-in-law, Gretchen Elrod of Williamston; son-in-law, Tony Jackson of Belton; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one brother, Wade H. Elrod of Greenville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Elrod; a daughter, Linda Faye Jackson; and a sister, Hazel Bowman.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, conducted by Rev. Kevin Jones. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family is at the residence.
