JIM CALLAHAM

March 1, 1950 – February 20, 2012
ANDERSON, SC - James Claude “Jim” Callaham, Jr., of 206 Wedgewood Drive, Anderson, passed away peacefully Monday, February 20, 2012 at his residence.
Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late James Claude Callaham, Sr. and Betty Shelton Hoyle. Jim was a graduate of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and during the Cooley Administration served as Lieutenant at the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department in the Narcotics Division. He also owned and operated the Jim Callaham Investigations Service and worked with the Harold Lowery Law Firm. Jim was the past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge of
Anderson, a member of Hiram F&AM Lodge # 68, and a member of Hejaz Shrine Temple.
In addition to his mother, Jim is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Adams and her husband Travis of Danielsville, GA and Nan Edwards and her husband Phillip of Jefferson, GA; sons, Russell Blake Callaham of Commerce, GA and Michael Callaham of Anderson; brother, Dr. Mark Hoyle and his wife Darlene of Townville; sisters, Kathi Gray and her husband Sonny of Iva, Shirley Glenn and her husband Ronnie of Anderson and Renee’ Bryant and her husband Ronnie of Anderson. Also left to cherish his memory are his precious grandchildren, Nicole Adams, Cole and Chelsea Edwards.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Dan Batson.
The family is at the home of his sister, Renee’ Bryant, 2809 Midway Road, Anderson and will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, February 27, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or St. Johns United Methodist Church, Good Samaritan Fund, 515 South McDuffie Street, Anderson, SC 29624.
