FLORENCE “Mickey” ALLEN

March 30, 1922 – February 24, 2012

Florence “Mickey” Allen, age 89, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Ellenburg Nursing Center, surrounded by the love of her family.  Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Richard D. and Mary McLane Stovall.  Her husband was the late William H. Allen to whom she was married for 49 years. 

Mrs. Allen was a graduate of Girls High School in Anderson, and was a faithful and lifelong member of Orrville Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Survivors include 2 sons:  Jimmy Allen (Mary Ann) of Anderson, and Bill Allen (Deborah) of Greenville; also surviving are 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  

In addition to her parents and husband, Mickey was predeceased by a brother, Carlton Stovall, and a grandson, Jonathan Eric Allen. 

 A Graveside Service celebrating the life of Mrs. Allen will be held Sunday at 2:30 PM at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Dr. Wendell Bannister and Rev. Travis Bryan officiating.  A visitation will be held at the conclusion of the service.  The family will be at the home of Jimmy and Mary Ann Allen, 2418 Marchbanks Avenue, Apt 41-H, Anderson. 

Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Allen may be made to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622.
