ELENDER A. QUEEN

MAY 20, 1925 – FEBRUARY 17, 2012

ANDERSON, SC - Elender Arnold Queen, age 86, of Anderson, passed away on February 17, 2012 at the Nancy Hart Nursing Center in Elberton Georgia. 

She was the daughter of the late Cullen Arnold and Inez Martin Arnold.  She was retired from the Singer Corporation and had also worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass. She was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church. 

She is survived by a son, Larry Queen and his wife Cynthia, of Anderson, daughter-in-law; Linda  Queen, of Anderson, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; sisters; Nancy Rhodes and Zettie Hayes both of Anderson.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ralph Waldo Emerson Queen; a daughter, Pamela Queen; a son, Donnie Queen; brothers: Roger Arnold and Judge “Bud” Arnold,  and a sister, Alice Harris. 

The family will be receiving friends Monday, February 20, 2012, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, at The McDougald Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be Monday, February 20, 2012, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Tom Turner.  Interment will follow at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to The New Prospect Baptist Church, 2503 Whitehall Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
