PAUL L. PETTIT

LIBERTY- Paul L. Pettit, 90, of 8234 Liberty Hwy, husband of the late Colleen Childress Pettit, died Wednesday February 15, 2012 at his residence.
Born July 28, 1921 in Liberty, SC he was the son of the late John Fuller and Emma Baldwin Pettit. He served in the US Marine Corps and was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church of Liberty.
He is survived by his daughters, Paula Hendricks of Pawley's Island, Kathy Finley of Liberty, sons, Ray Pettit of Rock Hill and Rev. Eddie Pettit of Sunset, seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Johnnie Niemeyer, of MD, Myra Winchester of Greenville and brother, Coke Pettit of Liberty. He was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Pettit, grandson, Christopher Finley, sisters, Bonnie Carter, Leah Rankin and Lela Goetze and brothers, Spurgeon Pettit and Quinton Pettit.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Friday at Flat Rock Baptist Church of Liberty with Revs. Doug Goss and Eddie Pettit officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:30 at the church.
