JOYCE S. HOARD

May 10, 1935 – February 15, 2012

ANDERSON, SC - Joyce Faye Shields Hoard, age 76, of 2501 Winslow Drive, Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at the Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Hampton, VA, Mrs. Hoard was the daughter of the late Harry B. Shields and Ethel B. West Shields.  She was a homemaker and member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she served as a church office volunteer, and was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Julia Camp Circle, and the Hospitality Committee.

A devoted mother and loving wife, Joyce is survived by her husband of 58 years, Marvin L. Hoard, of the home; sons, Danny Hoard and his wife, Amy, Don Hoard and his wife, Beth, Doug Hoard and his wife, Delana, all of Anderson, SC, and son, David Hoard and his wife, Debbie, of Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers, Rodman B. Shields and James B. Shields; sisters, D. Juanita Gayheart and Barbara J. Carter; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers Harry E. Shields and sisters L. Lorraine Wood and Geraldine A. Gurganus.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 11:00 am

at the Trinity United Methodist Church with the Reverend Paul Frey officiating.  Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum 

The family will be at the residence of Danny Hoard, 4020 Brackenberry Drive, Anderson, SC, and will receive friends Friday, February 17, 2012, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 1809 North Main Street, Anderson, SC   29622.
