DR. JERRY CLONTS
Friday, January 6, 2012 at 1:15PM ANDERSON, SC – Dr. Jerry Arden Clonts Sr. passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2012.
Born in Gaston, AL, he was a son of the late Ernest and Josephine Clonts. Dr. Clonts served in the United States Navy and was a retired professor at Anderson University.
He is survived by his children: Jerry Clonts, Jr. of Moorhead, NC, Charlene Clonts of Paris, France, and Cecile Heidi Clonts of Helsinki, Finland; five grandchildren; and Betty Clonts of Moorhead, NC, & Marie-Therese Clonts of Taylors, SC. The family would like to acknowledge the staff of Hospice of the Upstate, as well as B.J. Avery, Sandra Pratt, Mary Mack, & Sherry Dean, for the genuine care given to Dr. Clonts. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Janice Clonts Entrekin.
The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 2pm until 3pm on Saturday, January 7, 2012. A Graveside Service will follow at 3:30pm in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorials be made to the Anderson University Cancer Research Center, c/o Dr. Diana Ivankovic, 316 Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.
