PENDLETON - David Lee Crenshaw, 63, husband of Lynn Fincher Crenshaw, died Monday, January 9, 2012.
Born April 23, 1948 in Anderson, he was the son of the late Horace Lee and Elizabeth Hudgens Crenshaw. He was a graduate of Pendleton High School, Anderson University, and the F.B.I. National Academy. Mr. Crenshaw was a member of the Pendleton Volunteer Fire Department for 50 years and served as Chief for 21 years. He was a member Pendleton Lodge #34, A.F.M. and Past Worshipful Master. He was also a member of the Hejaz Shrine and the Clemson York Rite Bodies. He served in Law Enforcement for 34 years and formerly served as Sheriff of Anderson County. He received the J.P. Strom Award in 1976. He was currently serving on the Pendleton Town Council. Mr. Crenshaw was a lifelong member of Pendleton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn, of the home; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Crenshaw; son, Ben Crenshaw; and a brother, Frank Crenshaw, all of Pendleton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pendleton United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Ben Barnett and Rev. Lloyd White. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson.
