Calhoun, who he held in high regard.  An avid sports fan, Dick enjoyed professional and college sports of all kind.  Dick was very interested in genealogy and his family is grateful for his efforts in researching the Asmussen family tree.  He helped his loving family and his kind, gentle, and wise demeanor allowed him to help everyone he met.  He loved his relationship with God, studying his Bible, attending Sunday services at Trinity UMC, and evening services at NewSpring.  He helped teach the Cokesbury Sunday School Class at Trinity UMC. He was willing to share his wisdom.   Dick was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he helped start the ‘Touch of Love Program’, a church program specializing in the needs of underprivileged children.
