ANDERSON – Frank Inman Vickery, 85, of 106 Eastview Avenue, widower of Sara Louise Jones Vickery, died Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born March 7, 1926 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Horace and Eva Junkins Vickery. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy and served in WWII. Mr. Vickery later retired as a salesman for Builder Way in 1988. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Anderson and was a member of the Baraca Sunday School Class.
Surviving are his 2 daughters, Joanne Davis and her husband, Larry and Dianne Goldsmith and her husband, Larry all of Anderson; 5 grandchildren, Alisa, Kelly, Billy, Mandy and Lindsay; 6 great grandsons, Tristan, Jaxon, Brett, Braden, Bryce and Matthew . He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jade, Schaffer and Poss Vickery and a sister, Audrey Brown.
Funeral service will be held at 3PM Thursday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Downtown Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Webb officiating. The burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8PM at the Downtown Chapel, 401 N. Main Street. The family is at the home of the daughter, Dianne Goldsmith, 113 Fieldcrest Drive, Anderson.
