ELIZABETH PARKER

November 25, 1952 – May 6, 2010

ANDERSON – Elizabeth was united with Jesus around 1 o’clock A.M. on May 6, 2010. Elizabeth Louise Parker, of 304 Mallard Lane, was born to Elmer Louise McKay and Delma Horace Parker on November 25, 1952 in Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended Cabarrus County Schools and graduated from Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina with a BA in Biology. She was employed by Clemson University in the Agriculture Research Lab where she recently retired with 25 years service.

Elizabeth had completed the South Carolina Master Gardner Program and loved working with her flowers in the springtime of the year. Several of her neighbors commented on how pretty and colorful her yard would be. Springtime was her favorite time of the year.

Elizabeth was a Christian and enjoyed talking about and praising her personal Savior, Jesus Christ. WLFJ (with love from Jesus) was the radio station her car radio was tuned to. She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church where she sang in the adult choir and attended Pastor Steve’s Sunday School Class.

Preceded in death by her father and mother, Elizabeth was the last member of her immediate family.

Elizabeth is survived by her devoted companions, Rose and Max, her backyard gardening buddy, Mary Isom, and her adopted family, Gary C. Kidd and his four children, Tammy May of Barboursville, WV, Tracy Pressley, Tanya Carter, and Travis Kidd, all of Anderson, and grandchildren, Kristin Rider, Jennifer Chamblee, Ronnie Pressley, Christopher Carter, Cory May and Chase Pressley. She is also survived by four aunts on her father’s side, two aunts on her mother’s side, and numerous cousins.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, conducted by Rev. Steve Silvey. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation for family and friends will be from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family will be at the residence of Tracy Pressley, 305 Mallard Lane.

Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to the Anderson County Animal Shelter, Covenant Baptist Church, or Hospice of the Upstate.

Elizabeth has moved, her new address is: Elizabeth Louise Parker, 7 Halleluiah Chorus Lane, City of Paradise, Heaven. “In my Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go to prepare a place for, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.” John 14:2 & 3.
