LaFRANCE – Charles Travis Thrasher, Sr., 73, formerly of LaFrance, husband of the late Lily Mae Thrasher, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born April 6, 1937 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Noah Clarence and Fannie Lawton Thrasher. He was a retired employee of Equinox Mill and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Thrasher loved fishing and racing.
Survivors include his children, Buster Thrasher and wife, Debbie of Pendleton, Janice Thrasher of Iva, Jimmy Thrasher and wife, Sheila of LaFrance, and Eddie Thrasher and wife, Kim of Sandy Springs; stepson, Johnny Meadows and wife, Lisa of Lexington, GA; stepdaughter, Darlene Roper of Pendleton; l6 grandchildren, including Roger Thrasher of Anderson, who was raised in the home; two great grandchildren; four sisters, Joyce Glenn of LaFrance, Mary Thrasher of Seneca, Reba Blalock of Hartwell, GA, and Audrey Fuller of Seneca; and his first wife, Betty Wilson Milford of Iva.
In addition to his second wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Junior Thrasher, Harold Thrasher, Billy Thrasher, and Milford Thrasher, and one sister, Wanda Thrasher.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, conducted by Rev. David Blizzard. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. Family members are at their respective homes and will be at the home of a sister, Audrey Fuller, 159 Spoon Road, Seneca, following the visitation.
