ANDERSON, SC - Myrtle Lee Pruitt Burkhard, age 80, wife of the late Ronald Burkhard, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2010, at the Rainey Hospice House,
Born in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Joe Pruitt and Minnie Pruitt Hilley. She was a bookkeeper at Woolworth’s Dept. Store in Anderson, SC for many years before moving to New York where she lived for twenty years. She returned to Anderson, and she worked at Winn Dixie until she retired. She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Dunn of Anderson and Jimmy Dunn of Miami, FL; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Robert Pruitt and a sister, Sarah P. Manley.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Noon at Forest Lawn Memorial Park officiated by the Reverend Kurt Stutler.
The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:30 am until 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made John Wesley United Methodist Church, c/o Faith Lewis, 3007 Quail Ridge Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
