OCTOBER 23, 1933 – APRIL 1, 2010

ANDERSON, SC – William “Bill” Oliver Webb, age 76, of 500 Timber Lane passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010, at his home.

Born in Takoma Park, Maryland on October 23, 1933, he was a son of the late Arlie Otto Webb and Ruby Blanche Johnson Webb.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  Mr. Webb retired from the Department of State in Washington, D.C.  He was a member of North Anderson Baptist Church. Additionally, he was a member of the Experienced Aircraft Association and the Pendleton Swingers Square Dance Club.

Survivors include his wife of forty-five years, Patricia F. Webb; children: Wendy Marie Lough and husband, Adam of Boiling Springs, SC, Christopher S. Webb of Linthicum  Heights, MD, and Nancy Jane Matter of Dallas, TX; grandchildren: Samantha Ann Webb, Sophie Elizabeth Webb, Elisabeth Marie Lough, William Grady Webb, Ryan Joseph Matter, and Jamie Nicole Matter.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Arlene Webb Guy.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, April 5, 2010, at North Anderson Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Bill Rigsby.  Interment with Military Honors provided by Fort Gordon will be held in the M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

The family is at the home and will receive friends at North Anderson Baptist Church from 12 noon until 1:00 pm on Monday, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorials be made to the Building Fund of North Anderson Baptist Church, 2308 North Main Street, Anderson, SC 29621.
