ANDERSON, SC – John Elmer Myers, age 90, of 516 Drayton Circle, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010, at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Petersburg, Pennsylvania on March 28, 1920, he was a son of the late Fred Myers and Ida Guisler Myers. Mr. Myers retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas in 1984 and was a member of the Upstate Buick Club. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Petersburg and attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Holland Myers; daughter, Judy Myers Frailey and husband, Richard of Anderson; brother, Edward Guisler Myers of Petersburg; two grandchildren: Carlette F. Hamby and husband, Donnie, and Scott Frailey and wife, Suzanne; seven great grandchildren: Daniel Hamby, Derek Hamby, Chase Hamby, Sydney Hamby, Noah Hamby, Camden Frailey, and Ella Frailey.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 5, 2010, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park conducted by the Reverend Paul D. Frey.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorials be made to Hospice of The Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
