WILLIAMSTON – Rebecca Hinnant Bowen, 87, of 147 Paulan Road, widow of Carson W. Bowen, died Monday, April 19, 2010 at her home.

Born October 17, 1922 in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.  James Napolean Bowen. She was a homemaker and served as a Pink Lady at AnMed Health Medical Center for 10 years. Mrs. Bowen was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she taught in the 4 year- old Sunday School Department for 27 years.

Survivors include two sons, James L. Bowen and wife, Brenda, of Williamston, and Rep. Don C. Bowen and wife, Tomilyn, of Anderson; eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Reeta Bowen Pelfrey; daughter-in-law, Sharon B. Bowen;  great grandson, Jacob Samuel Terry; three brothers, Bill, Walter, and Omearl Hinnant;  and two sisters, Elizabeth Haltiwanger and Margaret Dickerson.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Paul Frey. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family is at the home of a son, James and Brenda Bowen, 148 Paulan Road, Williamston.
