BELTON – Claude Wooten, 82, of 13000 Highway 20, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at his residence.
Born June 17, 1927 in Missouri Branch, WV, he was the daughter of the late Albert and Peggy Jude Wooten. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute. He was a retired businessman and pastor, and was a member of Neals Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Celestia V. Wooten of the home; daughter, Peggy Lee Cline and husband, Lacy of Belton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, conducted by Rev. Alex Henderson. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Greenville. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Monday at the mortuary, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family is at the residence.
