IVA – William Wayne Gleason, 69, of 108 Latham Street, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at his residence.
Born May 2, 1940 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late George Leonard and Gertrude Wicker Gleason. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired Anderson County employee. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle; children, Billy, Audri, and Greg Gleason, all of New York, and Andy Gleason of Vermont; four sisters, Betty Compton of Pickens, Faye Jones, Renee Mackins, and Carla Gleason, all of Anderson; three brothers, David Gleason of Iva, Rufus Gleason of Belton, and Roger Gleason of Anderson; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Jennie Smith Gleason.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Smith’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
