ANDERSON, SC – Phyllis Marie Smith Drumhiller, 79, of Anderson, South Carolina, wife of Cecil Drumhiller, died Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born July 30, 1930 in Hutchinson, KS, where she lived for 62 years. She was the daughter of the late Fred G. and Minnie Mary Krueger Smith. She was licensed to sell financial securities and sold many different types of investment options over the years. After retiring here to Anderson, she worked as a sales associate at Belk’s. When Phyllis wasn’t working, she enjoyed the art of oil and acrylic painting and sold several of her paintings. She loved teaching others her art. In addition, she was a life-long Sunday School teacher and member of Anderson Church of Christ.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Cecil Earnest Drumhiller of Anderson, SC; 2 sons, E.S. (Hank) Drumhiller of Roswell, GA and Harold Lee Drumhiller of Crossville, TN; daughter, Linda Kay Chapman of Mill Creek, WA and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers, John and Herschel Smith and 3 sisters, Maxine Aupperle, Irene Bridges and Twila Rogers.
Memorial services will be held at 1 PM this Saturday at Anderson Church of Christ with Minister Gavin Coriell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. The family is at the Anderson home.
